About this speaker
Jason Adam Sheets' research is centered on religion, literature, and culture. In addition to his work as a scholar, Sheets' commitment to the field can be seen in his work as a poet and author. Books include V Verse Is I (forthcoming, 2025), A Madness of Blue Obsidian (AGP, 2022), The Hour Wasp (AGP, 2017), and Theopoetica: An Anthology (AGP, 2022). A 2022 Pushcart Prize nominee, his writing was recently featured in Harvard Magazine, POETRY, and by Oxford University’s Research Centre in the Humanities.
He works as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard and teaches for Harvard's Poetry in America program—in affiliation with the eponymous PBS television series and in conjunction with the National Education Equity Lab and ASU—and is a research mentor for Indigo Research. He has taught English at the University of New Hampshire and has worked as a writing and publishing mentor in AWP’s Writer to Writer mentorship program.
