About this speaker

Kanishka’s Ph.D. dissertation investigates how the growth of free market discourses is changing the way people understand themselves, their lives, and their roles in the modern economy. It further examines how these shifts are affecting the relationships between caste and class, particularly in elite educational and corporate settings in India.


Prior to that, he got a bachelor’s degree in business from University of Delhi and a master’s degree in economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He also worked as a Research Analyst specializing in energy for 3 years – oil, gas, nuclear, and renewable.
