Dr. Ahmad Greene-Hayes is an Associate Professor of African American Religious Studies at Harvard Divinity School, focusing on 19th- and 20th-century African American religious history, race, sexuality, and religion in the Americas. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University with certificates in African American Studies and Gender and Sexuality Studies, and a B.A. with highest honors from Williams College. Author of Underworld Work (2025) and the forthcoming Little Richard’s Witness, he has received prestigious fellowships from Yale, Princeton, and professional societies, and is recognized for leadership roles in major academic organizations. His research integrates critical Black Studies, interdisciplinary archives, and advanced theories in Black religious history.
